Page Turners: SI, ESPN The Magazine Down In Ad Revenue Through Q3
Ad-revenue leader Sports Illustrated reached $472M during the first nine months of '08, off 4.2% from the same period a year ago. ESPN The Magazine was also down 19.6 % compared to the first nine months of '07. Action sports magazines continue to see big gains in ad revenue through Q3 of '08, as Transworld Skateboarding, Transworld Snowboarding and Transworld Surf are seeing double-digit increases. Golf publications are also seeing upticks through September, as Golf Magazine, Golf World, Travel + Leisure Golf and Golf for Women are all seeing increases in ad revenue. Golf Digest is off 3.8%. The following lists ad revenue and ad pages for selected sports magazines through Q3 of '08, compared to the same period in '07 (Publishers Information Bureau).
