Magazines Pick Red Wings To Repeat As Stanley Cup Champions

The Red Wings are the prohibitive favorite to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, according to a sampling of publications. The Hockey News, Sporting News, Sports Illustrated and ESPN The Magazine all picked the defending Cup champs to hoist Lord Stanley’s trophy again in ‘08-09. The Hockey News and ESPN The Magazine have the Wings beating the Canadiens in the finals, while Sporting News and Sports Illustrated pick the Penguins to win the Eastern Conference.
