Taking The Green: Versus To Broadcast First Three IRL Races In '09

Versus will drop the green flag on its IndyCar Series coverage by carrying the season's first three races in '09, according to the broadcast schedule that will be released this week. After Versus broadcasts the St. Petersburg, Long Beach and Kansas races, ABC will carry five of the next seven, including the Indianapolis 500. Versus then finishes the season with eight straight races, including the new season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. "Having the season essentially broken into three segments will give fans a consistent place to find the IndyCar Series all season," said IRL Commercial Division President Terry Angstadt.
