Twins Announce Season-Ticket Pricing Plan For Target Field

Twins Unveil Season-Ticket Pricing Plan
For 2010 Campaign At Target Field
The Twins Thursday announced the season-ticket relocation process for the team's move from the Metrodome to Target Field for the 2010 season. Seating priority for Target Field will be determined by the following factors, in order of importance: account longevity, plan type, account dollar value and order date. The team also unveiled the season-ticket pricing structure for the '09 and 2010 seasons (Twins). In Minneapolis, La Velle Neal III reports the cost of the "best seats at Target Field ... will be much higher in some cases" that comparable seats that the Metrodome. The "most expensive seats at the Dome next year are 135 Dugout Box seats, where a season ticket can be purchased for $139 a game." Front-row season tickets behind home plate at Target Field -- "in a section called the Champions Club -- will cost $275, but includes valet parking, food and drink." The new park will also feature 400 Champions Club seats "that will go for between $175 and $275 a game." Meanwhile, fans will be able to "sit in the Legends Club, which comes with access to private lounge areas, bars, large screen TVs, fireplaces and upscale food options." Season tickets are $48-55 per game for that level, but "include a one-time membership fee of up to $2,000." There will be "13,600 season tickets at $20 or less a game at Target Field" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 9/19).

DOING THEIR HOMEWORK: Twins President Dave St. Peter said, "We looked at what other clubs have done right, and frankly what other clubs have done wrong. ... It was important to us to create a pricing structure that, in our mind, wasn't out of whack." St. Peter added 85% of Target Field's 60 suites are sold. In St. Paul, Kelsie Smith reports the suites range in price from $90,000-200,000 and "all of the $200,000 suites are sold." Also, 80% of Target Field's 3,000 club seats "have been sold to existing season-ticket holders" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 9/19).
