DOG DAY AFTERNOONS: Atlanta's WGCL-CBS earned a 16.0 rating for last Saturday's Georgia-South Carolina college football game, outdrawing the 15.7 rating Sunday's Falcons-Buccaneers game on WAGA-Fox earned. WSB-ABC's coverage of Georgia Tech-Virginia Tech, which aired Saturday at the same time as Georgia-South Carolina, earned a 4.4 rating (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 9/19).
NFL NOTES: KPHO-CBS for Sunday's Dolphins-Cardinals drew a 17.5/34 HH rating, marking the most-watched TV program in the Phoenix market for the week ending September 14 (Cardinals)....KCTV-CBS for Sunday's Raiders-Chiefs game drew a 30.2 rating, the highest this season, including the pre-season. Meanwhile, ESPN2 earned a 7.6 in the K.C. market for last Friday night's Kansas-South Florida college football game, and FSN K.C. drew a 4.2 HH rating for Saturday's coverage of Nevada-Missouri (K.C. STAR, 9/17).
MLB NOTES: Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia for its coverage Tuesday of Phillies-Braves, which saw the Phillies take first place in the NL East, earned a 9.4 HH rating. The game marks the highest-rated Phillies game of the season on the net. CSN Philadelphia was the most-watched net in the Philadelphia market from 7:00-11:00pm ET Tuesday, drawing a 5.3 rating among adults 25-54 for the game (CSN)....WGN-CW earned a 8.5/12.8 HH rating for Sunday's Cubs-Astros game, in which Cubs P Carlos Zambrano threw a no-hitter. WGN this season is averaging a 7.5 for Cubs broadcasts, up 17% over last year (Illinois DAILY HERALD, 9/19).
