USOC Names Larry Probst, Ursula Burns To Board Of Directors
The USOC yesterday announced the addition of two business leaders to the organization's BOD. Electronic Arts Chair Larry Probst and Xerox President Ursula Burns will join the board this October and serve on it for six years. They replace Errol Davis, Chancellor of the University System of Georgia, and USOC Chair Peter Ueberroth. Probst and Burns were selected by the USOC's Nominating & Governance committee. Ueberroth will remain in a non-voting position with the USOC as an honorary president through the selection of the 2016 Olympics host city in October '09 (Tripp Mickle, SportsBusiness Journal). In Colorado, Brian Gomez reports the USOC "probably will name a new chairman within the next month to strengthen efforts on Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympics" (Colorado Springs GAZETTE, 9/18).
