NFL NOTES: In Green Bay, Warren Gerds writes signs point to the Jets earning "higher ratings in the Green Bay market" than in N.Y. for last Sunday's season opener against the Dolphins on CBS. The game earned a 12.6/30 in N.Y., and while Milwaukee, the closest metered market to Green Bay, drew a 20.9/43 (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 9/12)....Last Sunday's Panthers-Chargers game on Fox posted a 23.1/46 in the San Diego market and a 24.6/41 in the Charlotte market (NORTH COUNTY TIMES, 9/12)....ESPN's season opener of "Sunday NFL Countdown" earned a 2.4 cable rating and 2,331,000 HHs, up 9% and 8%, respectively, over Week One in '07 (ESPN).

GATOR BAIT: ESPN's primetime coverage of last Saturday's Miami-Florida college football game was the net's third-most viewed college football telecast ever, averaging a 5.0 cable rating and 4,886,000 HHs. Meanwhile, the net's coverage of Ohio-Ohio State game Saturday was the net's second-most viewed regular-season telecast in the 12:00pm ET window, earning a 3.0 cable rating and an average of 2,956,000 HHs (ESPN).

FLYING HIGH: TSN Tuesday night earned its largest Blue Jays audience since '00, drawing 650,000 viewers for the second game of the Blue Jays-White Sox doubleheader. Also, Rays-Blue Jays last Sunday drew 458,000 viewers on the CBC, up 22% from the net's season average of 354,000. The CBC for last Saturday's Rays-Blue Jays game drew 394,000 viewers (GLOBE & MAIL, 9/11).
