Fans More Upbeat At State Of The Bruins Town Hall Meeting
Last night's State of the Bruins Town Hall meeting at TD Banknorth Garden was attended by "approximately 720 season ticket-holders" and featured an atmosphere that was "decidedly more upbeat" than last year, according to Steve Conroy of the BOSTON HERALD. During the meeting, Bruins Owner Jeremy Jacobs, Exec VP Charlie Jacobs, VP Cam Neely, GM Peter Chiarelli, coach Claude Julien and Ds Zdeno Chara and Aaron Ward "fielded questions for about 90 minutes." Charlie Jacobs: "We do have a situation where the Celtics and Red Sox and Patriots have had such wonderful success. And I do believe that that adds pressure and expectations to what the Bruins [need] to do" (BOSTON HERALD, 9/11). In Massachusetts, Mike Loftus noted, "None in the crowd of 720 booed the introduction" of Jeremy Jacobs, who "was only asked a couple of questions once fans got a chance to address the group of executives." Fans, "for the most part, were complimentary, even thankful" (PATRIOT LEDGER, 9/11).
