Colts Will Help Fans Better Navigate Lucas Oil
Stadium Following Crowds At Stadium Opener |
Colts officials yesterday said that fans at Lucas Oil Stadium will get "better guidance from ushers and more information about how to navigate the new stadium after some fans complained that insufficient or confusing signs, lack of monitoring by ushers and visitors' unfamiliarity with the new facility led to 30-minute waits for escalators," according to Francesca Jarosz of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. Colts officials this week "will send out e-mails, post information on the team's Web site and broadcast on Colts radio to better inform fans how to get around the new facility before the second preseason home game" against the Bengals on Thursday. Colts Senior Exec VP Pete Ward said, "The ramps are not easy to find unless you look for them and know they are there." Ward added that the Colts and the Capital Improvement Board, which operates the stadium, are "discussing how to improve signs." Ward said that the stadium has "two ramps, six major stairwells and 10 escalators, including one in each of the two club lounges." The "nine elevators are reserved for disabled fans and suite-holders." Ward said that "more fans than usual were walking around during Sunday's game to see the new stadium" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 8/26).
