Stats Inks Multi-Year Deal With NFL To Provide Real-Time Data
By Eric Fisher, Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal
Stats LLC has signed an exclusive multi-year contract extension with the NFL that designates the company as the exclusive domestic provider of real-time play-by-play, scoring data and statistics for the league. The two-way pact calls for Stats to sell the real-time data to its clients, while the NFL will use Stats content across several of its properties, including NFL Network and NFL.com. Financial terms were not disclosed. Stats in May signed a similar exclusive deal with the NBA, and also holds pacts of that type with the NHL and the CFL. "This is another important milestone in our continuing efforts to deliver the best contextual sports coverage available to our clients," said Gary Walrath, Stats CEO. "Stats also looks forward to working the league to explore the next generation of real-time game day information to further enhance the NFL experience."
