IMG Suing BearingPoint Inc. For Failing To Pay For Consulting
IMG Worldwide has "sued BearingPoint Inc. over claims the company owes money for a consulting contract," according to Sophia Pearson of BLOOMBERG NEWS. IMG, in a complaint filed yesterday in federal court in Cleveland, said that BearingPoint, which "hired IMG to help terminate its role" as title sponsor of the PGA Tour event at Riviera Country Club in L.A last year, "failed to fully pay the promoter for its services." IMG "negotiated with the PGA Tour on behalf of BearingPoint for title sponsorship rights in August 2007." In September, BearingPoint "decided it no longer wanted that role and requested IMG's services in ending it." The complaint stated that IMG is "seeking unspecified damages," and the "amount of the fee was confidential" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 8/13).
