The IOC Athletes Commission elected former Namibia runner FRANK FREDERICKS Chair, replacing SERGEY BUBKA, whose term ends this year. With the end of his term, Bubka will lose his automatic membership in the IOC, but he has a “good shot at staying on the IOC as he is one of two candidates who are up for election for new IOC seats” (AROUNDTHERINGS.com, 8/4)....The NCAA named STEVE PIOTROWSKI Ice Hockey Rules Committee Secretary-Rules Editor. Previously, Piotrowski was Dir of Officials for the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (NCAA)….The Univ. of Kentucky named SEC Dir of Media Relations DEWAYNE PEEVY Associate AD where he will he will be responsible for media relations (LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 8/5).
