HBO Could Feature Cowboys On "Hard Knocks" Again Next Summer

HBO May Feature Cowboys On
"Hard Knocks" Again Next Year
HBO's latest installment of its "Hard Knocks" series begins tommorow and features the Cowboys, and HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg yesterday said that he "hasn't ruled out the Cowboys being on 'Hard Knocks' next summer," according to Tom Orsborn of the SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS. Greenburg also said that he "recently talked with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about doing a series during the season." Greenburg said of the Cowboys, "If they were to win the Super Bowl, it wouldn't be bad to do the Super Bowl champion (on 'Hard Knocks')" (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 8/5). NFL Films President Steve Sabol said the Cowboys "were our first choice" for "Hard Knocks." Sabol acknowledged that NFL Films and HBO "were thinking about approaching the Giants," and he said that the Saints and Buccaneers "also were afterthoughts." For production of the show, the Broncos have "agreed to allow NFL Films and HBO special access" during a preseason practice with the Cowboys. In addition, Jones said that the cameras and microphones "have captured some of his most important conversations about" the team's new $1.1B Arlington, Texas, stadium (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/2). Sabol added of the show, "Ninety-five percent of our efforts will be focused on what happens on the field and in the locker room" (N.Y. POST, 8/4).
