In Chicago, Lewis Lazare reviews "Migration," the new Reebok spot via mcgarrybowen, N.Y., that highlights the brand's new Speedwick Tee. The ad "exudes a more sensitive aura as we see the athletes putting aside off-season activities and, in a quiet, almost trance-like state, coming together." The ad's "decidedly mellow aura is established in large measure" by the use of singer Vashti Bunyan's song "Train Song." The components of "Migration" all "mesh well to create a finished commercial." Lazare gives the ad a grade of "B+" (CHICAGO SUN TIMES, 7/31).
LINING UP FOR MORE: In Indianapolis, Erika Smith writes The Finish Line "is back on its feet with a rising stock price," and the company yesterday announced plans to expand its Indianapolis HQs "and add more than 180 local jobs." The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said that the retailer "will invest more than $34[M]" in its HQs and distribution center. Smith writes the company "has accomplished quite a turnaround in just a few months" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 7/31).
