NFL Panthers' Gridiron Club Memberships Selling Quickly
The NFL Panthers have "already sold 258 of 282 memberships available" for their new Gridiron Club at Bank of America Stadium, according to Erik Spanberg of the CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL. Panthers fans will have to pay "a $10,000 membership fee and $4,250 per ticket to become a member" of the club. Membership fees and ticket revenue from the club will "generate more than $3[M] for the team, with recurring revenue in future years -- including the food and drink -- of more than $1[M]." The new club includes "home-theater-style seats protected by a stadium overhang," and "58 [HD] TVs scattered from the bar to the private restrooms." There also is a "103-inch plasma screen in the main viewing area, reserved for the Panthers' broadcast." Wagner Murray Architects, Turner Interiors and N.W. Getz worked on the design and construction of the 10,000-square-foot club, which "cost the Panthers $2.6[M] to build." The "signature design element is a 130-football trophy case in the main walkway," which is "filled with personalized game balls saluting individuals and companies that have purchased memberships." Also, Panthers Owner Jerry Richardson's Baltimore Colts locker from his playing days "has been recreated" at the club, near the "personalized high-school-style sports lockers assigned to each member" (CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/25 issue).
