Mets Almost Sold Out Of Luxury Suites For New Citi Field

Mets Nearly Sold Out
Of Suites At Citi Field
The Mets have sold 48 of Citi Field's 49 luxury suites, and "management has a list of 12 hopefuls vying for the last one," according to Daniel Massey of CRAIN'S N.Y. BUSINESS. The suites "go for $250,000 to $500,000 and leases run from three to 10 years." Mets Exec VP/Business Operations Dave Howard: "We've done very well, which might suggest we priced the suites low." Howard added that the demand for the suites "may spur the team to convert five single-game party suites into full-season rentals" (CRAINSNEWYORK.com, 7/25).

ACROSS TOWN: In N.Y., Jeremy Olshan notes the Yankees "refused to discuss how suite leasing at their new stadium is going" (N.Y. POST, 7/29). Also in N.Y., Adam Lisberg reports the Yankees "project they will rake in $253.2[M]" at their new $1.3B ballpark next year. City officials will have access to a luxury suite called the "Landlord's Suite" at the ballpark. The city also "gets the right to purchase up to 180 tickets at every home game 'for the best seats available' at face value -- even for the playoffs and the World Series" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 7/29).
