Bulls G Derrick Rose Chooses Adidas Over Nike For First Shoe Deal

Bulls' Rose Agrees In Principle To
Shoe Endorsement Deal With adidas
Bulls G Derrick Rose "has chosen the stripes of adidas over the swoosh of Nike, agreeing in principle to his first shoe deal," according to Clyde Travis of the DAILY SOUTHTOWN. Rose: "The details are being worked out, and I'm very satisfied with the work my agent [former Bulls G B.J. Armstrong] has done, and I look forward to representing adidas." adidas "wasted no time bringing Rose into the fold, doing a photo shoot with him while he was in" L.A. attending the ESPY Awards last week. Rose: "I was surprised at all the work that goes into making a commercial, the amount of time and effort it takes to get that one perfect shot" (DAILY SOUTHTOWN, 7/25).

PICTURE THIS: BRANDWEEK.com's Barry Janoff reported more than 30 members of the '08-09 NBA rookie class "will get their first taste of national marketing next week when they converge for the league's official rookie photo shoot." The July 29 event at the MSG Training Facility in Tarrytown, New York, will feature NBA marketing partners, including adidas, EA Sports, Topps and Upper Deck. Rose will participate in the promos along with Heat F Michael Beasley, Grizzlies G O.J. Mayo, Nets C Brook Lopez, T'Wolves F Kevin Love and Clippers G Eric Gordon. Players will be dressed in their "official game uniforms from adidas and photographed by Topps and Upper Deck for their first NBA trading cards." They will also "take turns playing EA Sports 'NBA Live '09,' in which many of them appear" (BRANDWEEK.com, 7/24).
