2011 Super Bowl At Cowboys Stadium Sets Record For Sponsors

2011 Super Bowl At Cowboys Stadium
Already  Sets Sponsorship Record
Super Bowl XLV in 2011 at the new $1.1B Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas, "has already set a record," according to Jeff Mosier of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Super Bowl XLV Host Committee President Bill Lively said that NFL officials told him that his group's four $1M sponsors -- Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, Staubach Co., Hillwood Development Corp., and Ted and Shannon Skokos -- are "more than any other previous host committee." And Lively said that the "goal is to line up 11 more founding sponsors willing to make that seven-figure donation." Lively added that the "fundraising push is starting in earnest in the coming weeks for the 2011 Super Bowl." The committee will "field two founding sponsor fundraising teams: a corporate CEO action team lead by Hillwood boss Ross Perot Jr. and a Dallas Cowboys legends actions team led by" Pro Football HOFer Troy Aikman. Major sponsors are expected to "account for about half the host committee's estimated $30[M] budget." The committee also has "decided to split up the committee and expand it." There will be a 39-member BOD that will "meet quarterly and would be empowered to make decisions about Super Bowl planning," while the larger host committee will "meet twice a year" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 7/25).
