Westbrook Has Yet To
Officially Designate An Agent |
Eagles RB BRIAN WESTBROOK, who is "in a public contract dispute with the team," earlier this week reportedly hired FAME's TODD FRANCE for representation, but an Eagles source said that he had not heard from France as of 7:00pm ET yesterday. An NFL source said that Westbrook also "was in contact" with agent J.R. RICKERT "again last night even though it appeared [Rickert] had fallen out of the race" to rep Westbrook (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 7/24). Westbrook as of last night had yet to officially designate an agent. In Philadelphia, Les Bowen writes, "Is Westbrook changing his mind? (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 7/24).

The couple, who bought the house in '99 for $3.425M, are in the midst of a divorce and are "keeping a low profile, but it appears they are liquidating some of their assets" (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 7/24)....The ESPN Zone in Chicago on August 1 will hold an auction featuring memorabilia tied to Baseball HOFers BABE RUTH, LOU GEHRIG, HANK AARON, TED WILLIAMS and ROBERTO CLEMENTE, free agent LF BARRY BONDS and Pro Basketball HOFer WILT CHAMBERLAIN, among others. Tickets to the event, which is billed as the "world's most concentrated auction of high-end sports memorabilia," are selling for $100.
