Turnstile Tracker: Rays, Rockies Seeing Strong Attendance Gains

MLB teams are averaging 32,006 fans per game through the All-Star break, up slightly (0.9%) from the same period a year ago. The Yankees continue to lead all MLB teams at the gate, and are seeing a 1.4% increase in average attendance during their last season at Yankee Stadium. The Mets, in their final year at Shea Stadium, lead all NL teams in attendance with 50,291 fans per game, up 13.5% from a year ago. The Rays, sparked by their strong first half play, have seen the biggest attendance gains among all MLB teams, up 48.0%, while the Rockies have parlayed their World Series run last season into a 28.1% hike at the gate this year. The Rangers have seen the biggest decline at the turnstiles to date, as the team is down 21.0% through Sunday. And despite the strong play of the Marlins, attendance at Dolphin Stadium is off 15.7%.  The following lists MLB team-by-team attendance through July 13, with comparisons to the same period in '07 (THE DAILY).
