Average MLB Ticket Sale Prices On StubHub Down 2.9%

Tickets for MLB games are selling for an average of $67 on StubHub through July 10, down 2.9% from $69 at the same point last season.  The Red Sox lead the way with an average of $111 per ticket at Fenway Park, followed by the Yankees and Cubs. Teams in Midwest markets are seeing more affordable deals, with the Brewers, Indians and Tigers bringing up the rear of the list. HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL-STAR: The current average price for tickets sold on StubHub for the MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium is $983, making it the fifth-best selling event in company history, based on dollar volume. The ticket sale prices have ranged from $300 for a seat in the Tier Reserved MVP 3 section to $14,500 for a seat in the Field Championship 72 section. More than double the amount of actual tickets have already been purchased for the '08 All-Star Game compared to the total for last year's game, and sales for the '08 game are nearly triple those of the '07 game based on dollar value. The average ticket for the All-Star Workout Day and Home Run Derby next Monday is selling for $313, with a range of $100 in Loge Box 496 to $2,399 for a seat in Field Box 126. For the MLB Futures Game on Sunday, the average ticket selling price is $97, with a range of $10 for a seat in the Tier Reserved MVP 7 section to $911 for a seat in Field Box 45.
