Blog Hound: IU President Calls Sampson Hiring A Mistake

Over the past 24 hours the most popular topic in the blogosphere was Indiana Univ. President Michael McRobbie's June 14 admission to the NCAA Infractions Committee that it was a mistake to hire former men's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson. Also highly discussed was the increase in security for Red Sox players after they received racist threats. Other hot topics were former MLBer and Players Club magazine Founder Len Dykstra selling his house; former Red Sox GM Dan Duquette selling '04 World Series tickets at face value to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Mayor James Ruberto in an attempt to allow the Duquette-owned New England Collegiate Baseball League Berkshire Dukes to play at Pittsfield's Wahconah Park (they currently play there as the Pittsfield Dukes); and the Tigers making a comeback after a rough start to the season by winning their last six games, moving them over .500 and five games behind the division-leading White Sox. Visit www.sportsmediachallenge.com for more info or see chart below.
