Hidden Treasure: WNBA Lynx Signs Resort For On-Court Presence

The WNBA Minnesota Lynx have signed a deal with Minnesota-based Treasure Island Resort & Casino for the company to put its logo on the Target Center court for team games this season, according to John Vomhof Jr. of the MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL BUSINESS JOURNAL. Terms were not available for the deal, which sees the Lynx become one of just five WNBA teams "to add on-court advertising." The logo, which includes Treasure Island's Web address, is 13 1/2 feet by 4 1/2 feet. Treasure Island Marketing Dir Bob Ruhland said on-court signage "is new, it's very unique and it provides us separation from our competitors." Vomhof notes the company also sponsors the basket stanchions at T'Wolves games, the Xcel Energy Center club level and trivia contests at Twins games. Treasure Island also has its logo on NLL Minnesota Swarm jerseys (MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL BUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/27 issue).
