Delaware North Sportservice Lands Concessions,
Premium Dining Contract For Meadowlands Stadium |
The joint venture representing the NFL Giants and Jets has selected Delaware North Sportservice to operate general concessions and premium dining for their new stadium under construction at the Meadowlands, said two sources with inside knowledge of the deal. New Meadowlands Stadium Co. President & CEO Mark Lamping said he could not confirm the information, and Delaware North spokesperson Glen White said his company does not comment on market rumors. Sportservice won the contract over Levy Restaurants, the other finalist. Sportservice has a longstanding relationship with the MLB Cardinals, where Lamping had served as President since September '94 before assuming his current position in March of this year. The $1.7B stadium is set to open in fall 2010. Sportservice currently has four NFL food contracts at Cleveland Browns Stadium, Edward Jones Dome (Rams), Soldier Field (Bears) and Ralph Wilson Stadium (Bills).
