Nuveen Investments Launches New Campaign At Wrigley Field

Nuveen Investments Launches "Cubs
Forever" Ad Campaign At Wrigley Field
Chicago-based Nuveen Investments has launched an ad campaign at Wrigley Field with the tagline “Cubs Forever" that should "resonate instantly and deeply with tens of thousands of fans who have stood by the ballclub for a century,” according to Lewis Lazare of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES. The campaign via Fallon, Minneapolis, features seven billboards “that -- initially at least -- are only going up inside Wrigley Field at appropriate locations around the ballpark’s luxury skyboxes.” Each billboard “features an evocative black and white photograph -- some vintage and some recent -- coupled with a line or two of copy that simply works to enrich our appreciation of each image.” One ad contains a shot of a "dejected Cubs fan standing all alone in the bleachers" with a "discarded poster in the bottom right-hand corner of the photo that mimics Mastercard’s ‘Priceless’ campaign." Another shows workers constructing Wrigley Field with the text, "We Built It and They Haven’t Stopped Coming.” Lazare gives the campaign an "A" and writes Nuveen is "making a subtle but real statement about itself by choosing to shine the spotlight on the Cubs." Lazare: "We found ourselves in a deliriously happy state when we first looked at a remarkably simple and rich new outdoor campaign” (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 6/27).
