Mercury's Visit Yesterday To White House
CAA Sports is suing Dolphins CB WILL ALLEN for $195,000 after an NFLPA arbitrator agreed that Allen "defaulted on [a] promise to pay outstanding fees stemming" from the four-year, $12M deal he signed with the Dolphins in '06. CAA's TOM CONDON negotiated the deal for Allen, who now is repped by DREW ROSENHAUS. Sources said that CAA last fall filed a grievance with the NFLPA because it "hadn't received its 3[%] commissions" from '06 or '07 (PALM BEACH POST, 6/24).

HONORS & AWARDSPRESIDENT BUSH yesterday welcomed the '07 WNBA champions Mercury to the White House. Mercury Gs CAPPIE PONDEXTER and DIANA TAURASI presented Bush with a No. 07 Mercury jersey and replica championship banner (AZCENTRAL.com, 6/23)....YES Network last Thursday won four Promax/BDA Awards, including one Gold award, during a ceremony in N.Y. NAMES: IMG has signed PGA Tour member ANTHONY KIM to a marketing and management contract. Kim parted ways earlier this year with ROCKY HAMBRIC, who filed a lawsuit in May seeking damages (THE DAILY)....Yankees 3B ALEX RODRIGUEZ Saturday threw out the first pitch at the finals of the Alex Rodriguez Cup in front of 2,000 children at Macombs Dam Park near Yankee Stadium.
