Many thought that without Tiger, another player would emerge as a star, perhaps the new favorite, Rocco Mediate. Some saw Tiger as over-hyped anyway, and look forward to Tiger-less media coverage of golf. Another blogger pointed out that there are many golf tournaments that Tiger already does not participate in and they are still popular.
