Bobcats Hire Premier Partnerships To Help Identify Sponsors
Bobcats Sports & Entertainment (BSE) has teamed with L.A.-based Premier Partnerships, which will assist BSE in identifying new regional and national sponsorship opportunities, revenue streams and activation ideas (Bobcats). SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's John Lombardo wrote Premier is "no stranger to the NBA," as the company last year worked with the Hornets in "helping the team sign four Crescent City sponsorship deals worth seven figures annually." Premier also is "retained by USA Basketball." The Bobcats, who have about 60 partners, are "banking on Premier's ability to attract large, fully integrated national deals." While the number of partners is up 20% from last season, the Bobcats "rank near the bottom of the NBA in overall sponsorship deals." The club hopes to "try to attract larger, more regional deals as the team heads into next season." The 18-month exclusive agreement began this month (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/16 issue). Bobcats officials said that Premier will work with BSE to "add sponsors to a list that includes" Time Warner Cable, Lowe's, Coca-Cola and Anheuser-Busch (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 6/17).
LIVE WIRE: The Bobcats have signed a sales agreement with event marketer Live-360 that provides individuals the opportunity to buy guaranteed seats in premium locations for concerts and other non-NBA events at Time Warner Cable Arena. Live-360, an Indianapolis-based firm headed by veteran promoter Dave Lucas, developed Your Exclusive Access, an all-inclusive product that provides amenities such as parking, hospitality, concierge service and club lounge access. Annual prices will be $4,285 for floor seats and $3,825 for side seats, and a members-only Web site will be established to help patrons manage their accounts. Entertainment industry veteran Tony Pascarella will supervise Live-360's operations in Charlotte. Live-360's contract with the Bobcats follows similar deals with the Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse, T'Wolves at Target Center, Devils at Prudential Center, Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena and Spurs at AT&T Center. AEG books all five arenas (Don Muret, SportsBusiness Journal).
