Reebok Will Debut Sporting Goods Store At Patriot Place

Reebok Store At Patriot Place To Offer
Fans Chance To Design Customized Patriots Shoe
Reebok in August will open its "first-ever sporting goods store" at Patriot Place, according to Donna Goodison of the BOSTON HERALD. The store will be Reebok's "only retail location in the world where it sells its sports equipment side by side with its footwear and clothing." The store will be only the "second full-price, Reebok-branded U.S. store" for the company, which last October debuted an NHL Powered by Reebok flagship store in N.Y. The 5,000-square-foot-plus store "will take a seasonal approach to equipment sales, rotating hockey sticks and skates to its shelves, for example," once the NHL season begins. Reebok footwear and clothing also will be available year round. The store plans to stock "some 300 footwear styles, more than any other retail location in the country," while also selling Reebok's "pricier Retro Sport Collection and Roger Edwards products." Fans will be able to "customize Patriots versions of Reebok's NFL Recline sneaker at an in-store kiosk and have them mailed to their homes." However, sales of other Patriots products will be "downplayed at the store," because Reebok "doesn't want to compete with the new Patriots pro shop that it's helping to create on the first floor of the Hall at Patriot Place." Reebok's Patriot Place store will be the first of three new retail stores "rolled out this year" by the company, which currently has 149 U.S. outlets with discount items and "hopes to pilot at least two new mall-based store concepts this year" (BOSTON HERALD, 6/17).

NOW HIRING: CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar, a "three-level restaurant and entertainment destination" at Patriot Place, yesterday held a job fair at Gillette Stadium. Restaurant Red Robin Gourmet Burgers also will have a "trailer stationed at Patriot Place for two weeks." Patriots' management said that Patriot Place will "create 2,000 full- and part-time jobs over the next year" (BOSTON.com, 6/16).
