Energy Jolt: Gatorade Names Sarah Robb O'Hagan New CMO

Gatorade has named former Nike GM of the Western Region SARAH ROBB O'HAGAN as its new CMO. O’Hagan, who is 36, will lead Gatorade’s U.S. marketing efforts and will have influence over the company’s strategic direction across Latin America. O’Hagan has also led marketing efforts for Virgin Entertainment Group, Atari and Air New Zealand (Gatorade). BRANDWEEK's Barry Janoff noted Gatorade had been without a CMO since CINDY ALSTON resigned in June ‘07 to spend more time with her family. MATT KNOTT, who had been Marketing Dir at Propel, “moved in” as VP/Marketing for the division, but “has since departed to take a position at America's Second Harvest.” O’Hagan comes aboard as Gatorade “recently replaced long-time lead agency” Element 79 Partners, Chicago, with TBWA\Chiat\Day, Playa del Rey, Calif. According to Nielsen Monitor-Plus, Gatorade spent $185M on media in ‘07 and $55M from January-March '08 (BRANDWEEK.com, 6/13).
