Arsenal Fans Consider Boycott Of Newly Designed Home Jerseys

| Arsenal's New Home Jersey |
Fans of English Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal are "contemplating a campaign to boycott" the team's new home jerseys, which were released last week, according to the London TELEGRAPH. While there are "close discussions between clubs and their kit manufacturers before settling on a new design," most fans "point to Nike as having responsibility for doing away with the club's distinctive white sleeves: a sacrifice of tradition, in service of trendsetting." Of "equal annoyance" to fans is the belief that Nike and adidas "would not dare tinker with important features" of the jerseys for EPL clubs Manchester United and Liverpool. So far, the fuss is "focused on the home shirt only," as the away jersey has yet to be unveiled. But leaked photos reportedly of the away jersey have been posted online, and the yellow jersey "does not go down much better" with fans (London TELEGRAPH, 6/11).
