The Triple Wing: Hooters Signs On As Big Brown Secondary Sponsor

Hooters Signs A Secondary Sponsorship
Deal With Big Brown For Belmont Stakes
Just a few days before Big Brown makes a bid to become the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years, Hooters Restaurants has signed as a secondary sponsor of the horse. The deal follows an earlier primary sponsorship by UPS. In observance of the Belmont Stakes, Hooters will be holding "Big Brown Day" on Saturday at its 440 restaurants so customers can watch the horse chase history. The deal includes logo placement on the pants and undershirt of jockey Kent Desormeaux. Hooters has also made a commitment to the Desormeaux Foundation to help raise awareness for Usher Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes hearing loss or deafness and progressive loss of vision, which the jockey's son suffers from. 16W Marketing, Rutherford, New Jersey, represents Big Brown and Desormeaux for marketing and sponsorship deals. Licensees signed on by 16W include Photo File, Hartland Statues, Danbury Mint, Hampster Limited Edition, Merrick Mint, Gallery of Champions (an exclusive autograph deal for Desormeaux) Modell's, All Pro Championships, Horses Hats, the Northwest Company and Donruss.
