The IRL has hired MARK SIBLA as Manager of Team Business Development for the IRL’s sales department. Sibla, who previously worked at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as Senior Sponsor Adviser, will be the league’s sponsorship liaison to the teams, both at the IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights levels. Sibla began at the IRL’s Indianapolis HQs this week and will work to create relationships with the teams and help them secure sponsorships (Michael Smith, SportsBusiness Journal).

EXECS: The Texans have signed GM RICK SMITH to a four-year extension through the 2012 season. Smith, the NFL's youngest GM, in '06 signed a three-year deal after replacing CHARLEY CASSERLY (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 6/4)....English Premier League club Fulham Managing Dir DAVID MCNALLY has left the team. The club said McNally's responsibilities "will be shared between a number of senior employees" (London TELEGRAPH, 6/4)....The Muhammad Ali Center yesterday hired DC Children & Youth Investment Trust Corp. President GREGORY ROBERTS as its new President & CEO, effective July 24 (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 6/4).
