ESPN has reorganized its X Games department, now referring to it as the Global X Events & Development department, which will be overseen by ESPN Senior VP/Content Development & Enterprises KEITH CLINKSCALES. As part of the restructuring, EOE Senior VP RON SEMIAO will serve as Chief Creative X Officer. X Games Managing Dir RICK ALESSANDRI will continue to oversee X Games operations and serve as the Chief X Officer, reporting to Clinkscales. Also, ESPN has promoted X Games GM CHRIS STIEPOCK to X Games VP & GM, where he will report to Alessandri (ESPN).
EXECS: The Magic signed GM OTIS SMITH to a three-year contract extension yesterday with an option for a fourth year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The team also signed Assistant GM DAVE TWARDZIK to a contract extension (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 6/3)....Learfield Sports has named ADAM NUSE Account Exec for the Univ. of Memphis' Tiger Sports Properties (Learfield)....The Professional Baseball Umpire Corp. has hired DUSTY DELLINGER as a Part-Time Field Evaluator/Instructor (MiLB).
