Nike and Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Miami, have “split up after slightly more than a year together,” with the work Crispin was handling being moved back to Wieden & Kennedy (W&K), according to Eleftheria Parpis of AD WEEK. A Crispin rep confirmed the split, but neither the firm nor Nike “elaborated on why the relationship ended.” Nike hired Crispin in April ’07 “to handle the company’s global running-shoe account, as well as its Nike+ and Nike ID Web site businesses” (ADWEEK.com, 5/22). Nike Corporate Communications Manager Joani Komlos Wardwell confirmed that W&K “will be creating the running and Nike+ ads.” In Portland, Brent Hunsberger noted after losing the account last year, W&K “moved quickly … to beef up its inhouse digital talent,” including hiring Carat Fusion’s Reeny Gleeson as Global Dir of Digital Strategy (OREGONLIVE.com, 5/22).
