Teaming Up: Xanadu Named Nets' Presenting Sponsor For Off-Season
Nets President & CEO Brett Yormark said that the team has chosen Meadowlands Xanadu as its official presenting sponsor for the offseason, according to John Brennan of the Bergen RECORD. The offseason affiliation program is titled "Nets Overtime: The Summer Season," and from now through September, a "joint Nets/Xanadu logo" will be on the team's Web site, press releases, e-mail campaigns and season-ticket holder events, including Tuesday's draft lottery party. Yormark said that the partnership will bring Xanadu "greater awareness with Nets fans." Yormark: "It's an opportunity for Xanadu to do some soft marketing to a fan base that they will want to attract." Yormark added that Xanadu's opening in '09 also "could be helpful for the Nets' ticket sales." However, Brennan notes it "may not be a lengthy alliance," as the Nets plan to move to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn by 2010 (Bergen RECORD, 5/22).
