The Colts "have reached their goal of securing 14 founding partners" for their new $720M Lucas Oil Stadium, according to Don Muret of SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. The combined value of those agreements "exceeds the price of Lucas Oil’s naming-rights deal for the building." Colts Senior VP/Sales & Marketing Tom Zupancic said that the five- to eight-year contracts the companies signed to "put their names on gates, corners, suite levels, club lounges and other real estate are worth in total between [$10-12M] annually." All 14 of the founding partners are existing team sponsors except local law firm Baker & Daniels. Each sponsor will have "prime opportunities to activate its brand inside" Lucas Oil Stadium. Zupancic: "We encouraged all our sponsors to build out their spaces with fan interaction elements." Anheuser-Busch owns rights to a "15,300-square-foot open platform with concession stands on the north end, one floor above the main concourse, which it is calling the Bud Light Blue Zone." The Colts plan to open the Bud Light Blue Zone, "which will be the site of the team's pregame radio show, three to four hours before kickoff for all fans holding a game ticket" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 5/19 issue).
