LPGA Commissioner Carolyn Bivens Given Three-Year Extension
LPGA Tour Exec Committee President Hilary Lunke indicated that LPGA Commissioner Carolyn Bivens "has been given a three-year contract extension'' through the summer of 2011 by the LPGA's BOD, according to Ron Sirak of GOLF WORLD. Bivens was hired in June '05 to replace Commissioner Ty Votaw after that year's Solheim Cup, and she has "enhanced revenue opportunities from Asia, especially television money from Korea and Japan." She also has added tournaments in Thailand, Singapore and China, as well as a new event domestically near Miami (GOLF WORLD, 5/16 issue).
