The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Shira Ovide reports Six Flags CEO MARK SHAPIRO has been elected to the Tribune Co. BOD. Shapiro previously served as ESPN Exec VP/Programming & Production, and Tribune Co. Chair SAM ZELL said in a statement that Shapiro's "experience in broadcasting and entertainment would be an asset to the company." Ovide writes Shapiro's "familiarity with the sports world may also be useful as Tribune plans to sell" the Cubs and related assets (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 5/12).
