Media Notes

The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER's Paul Gough reports NBC Universal yesterday said that it will "revamp its operations in Manhattan by 2009, keeping several units at 30 Rockefeller Center but moving the rest to a new facility." 30 Rock will "continue to be the home of NBC Sports." The new facility, which will be either a "new building or an existing one remodeled, will have 2,000-3,000 employees" (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 5/8)....Several networks might request new episodes of their returning primetime shows "sooner this year as most of them are expected to launch their seasons early, in part to take advantage of the massive viewership drawn by the Summer Olympics" (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 5/8)....ESPN2 will carry MLB's '08 First-Year Player Draft live on June 5 from 2:00-6:00pm ET. The net will air both the first round, in which there are five minutes between picks, and the compensation round, which allows only one minute between selections (MLB.com, 5/6).
