English Premier League club Arsenal Managing Dir KEITH EDELMAN is leaving the club after eight years “in search of a fresh challenge.” Arsenal already has started the search for a successor, with Dir KEN FRIAR assuming the role of acting Managing Dir (ESPNSOCCERNET.com, 5/1). Edelman “will be retained for the next 12 months to ensure a smooth transition for his successor.” In Manchester, Paolo Bandini reported the departure of Edelman, “who had always insisted Arsenal could compete with the best sides in Europe without further investment, will inevitably lead to renewed speculation that a takeover of the club is imminent” (Manchester GUARDIAN, 5/1).

EXECS: The Bay Area Sports HOF (BASHOF) named S.F.'s Olympic Club GM DENNIS BOUEY Chair of its BOD. Bouey will replace LOU SPADIA, the first President of BASHOF, who will assume the title of Chair Emeritus (BASHOF)....Sunrise Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) named Dolphins Dir of Project Sales and Season & Group Ticket Sales STEVE BRAUNER Corporate Development Dir. He will be responsible for generating revenue through the sale of season-ticket packages, premium seating, suite sales, and media and marketing inventory throughout the BankAtlantic Center (SS&E)....State Farm named TODD FISCHER Manager of National Sponsorships, working from the company’s Bloomington, Illinois, office. Previously, Fischer was with GMR Marketing (Michael Smith, SportsBusiness Journal)....Velocity Sports & Entertainment (VS&E) named JONATHAN LIEBER Senior Sales Manager and ALANA FLINN Event Manager. Previously, Lieber was at the USTA in their Advanced Media and Corporate Partnerships divisions. Flinn was Senior Manager at the NBA (VS&E)....The Brewers have extended for five additional years the contracts of Exec VP/Business Operations RICK SCHLESINGER and Exec VP/Finance & Administration BOB QUINN (Brewers)....The Pacers have hired or promoted the following in their ticket department: ALAN MOWREY as Dir of Season Ticket Sales, JASON MCGUINNESS as Group Events Specialist, PETER DINWIDDIE as Group Sales Manager and SHILPA RUPANI as a Sales Consultant (Pacers).
