Super Bowl XLV Committee Lining Up Founding Sponsors
Super Bowl XLV Host Committee Chair Roger Staubach yesterday said that the committee is expected to announce Monday the "names of four or five companies that have agreed to pay $1[M] each to be 'founding sponsors'" of the 2011 game scheduled to be played at the new $1.1B Cowboys stadium in Arlington, according to Jeff Mosier of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The committee wants to "have 20 of these sponsors to raise a majority of the $30[M] needed" to host the game. Staubach's real estate firm, The Staubach Co., is one of the founding sponsors, all of which will be "incorporated into a logo and receive a luxury box, game tickets and admissions to official events." Staubach also said that NFL officials Monday will be in the Dallas area to "tour possible sites for events such as the NFL Experience." The host committee also has "started hiring professional staff to help run the massive effort." Staubach said that KDFW-Fox anchor Clarice Tinsley will head Super Bowl XLV's media relations effort. The committee also has hired as a consultant Michael Kelly, who has headed Super Bowl committees in Jacksonville, Tampa and South Florida (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 5/1).
