Randy Moss Forms NASCAR Truck Series Team Moss Motorsports

Patriots WR Randy Moss yesterday unveiled the formation of Moss Motorsports, LLC, and the team is expected to debut by running select races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the second half of this season, before running a full schedule in '09. Moss has contracted with Integrity Sports Marketing. Sponsors and manufacturer alignments have yet to be announced (THE DAILY). Moss Motorsports currently has no driver lined up (AP, 4/29). SPORTING NEWS' Reid Spencer reported Moss in June "plans to attend one or more non-companion truck races," if he can schedule the appearances around the Patriots' minicamps (SPORTINGNEWS.com, 4/29).

MARKETING POWER: In Orlando, Matt Humphrey wrote if the deal "comes to fruition, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will become a lot more interesting." The series needs a "big shot in the buttocks to spur publicity. And who better to do that than one of the NFL's biggest publicity machines" (ORLANDOSENTINEL.com, 4/29).
