SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Michael Smith reports Nationwide has agreed to a deal making it the "official insurance of Kentucky Speedway," which hosts NASCAR Nationwide Series and IndyCar Series events. The deal includes "about 1,500 race tickets that Nationwide will use for its associates and guests." Financial terms were not available (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 4/28 issue)....Kroger has renewed its title sponsorship of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at O’Reilly Raceway in Indianapolis. Kroger’s 27 years of race sponsorship is the “longest continuous race sponsorship in NASCAR history” (SCENEDAILY.com, 4/28)....Brooks Brothers, as the official apparel sponsors of the PGA Tour Stanford St. Jude Championship in Memphis June 2-8, will tailor a new champion’s jacket, making the tournament the only PGA Tour event with a seersucker jacket. Fans will be encouraged to wear the fabric on the final day of the tournament dubbed “Seersucker Sunday.” Brooks Brothers also will outfit event volunteers and staff in seersucker (THE DAILY).
