Trail Blazers, Celtics Top NBA Regular-Season RSN Ratings Gains

After five seasons on FSN Northwest, the Trail Blazers switched to the newly started Comcast SportsNet Northwest for the '07-08 regular season, and despite missing the playoffs, the club averaged a 3.4 HH rating on CSN Northwest, up 112.5% from last year. The increase tied the Celtics' telecasts on CSN New England for the highest percent increase among NBA teams during the regular season. The Celtics posted a 3.4 HH rating in a season that saw them post the NBA's best record. For Comcast, NBA ratings for its six teams increased 45% season-over-season, not including the Kings, whose ratings were not measured in '06-07. FSN averaged a 2.58 rating for its RSNs this regular season, up 12.2% from last season's 2.30 rating. The Hawks led the gains among FSN's RSNs, as they made the playoffs for the first time since the '98-99 season. The team saw gains on both SportSouth (+108.2%) and FSN South (+50.8%), as the nets split Hawks telecasts during the season. Of RSNs measured, 15 saw gains from the '06-07 season for their NBA team telecasts, while nine saw declines. The Heat on Sun Sports saw the sharpest decline, as the team went from last year's playoffs to the worst record in the league. The following lists RSN ratings for NBA teams from the '07-08 regular season.
