Golf Channel Hires CSN's Tom Stathakes As Senior VP

Comcast-owned Golf Channel has hired CSN Senior VP/Programming TOM STATHAKES as Senior VP/Programming, Production and Operations, replacing former VP/Production & Programming DON MCGUIRE, who left the network in late November. Stathakes joined CSN in ‘97, helping to build its first network in Philadelphia and expand it into more than 10 markets nationwide. For Golf Channel, the hire puts the entire network, int’l sales, programming, production and new media under the management of former Comcast execs. Stathakes is expected to start at the end of May. Comcast last week hired Producer MIKE WEISMAN to consult on the quality of Golf Channel programming.
