Finchem Takes Part In National
Golf Day Activities In DC
Former Mets clubhouse attendant KIRK RADOMSKI, a "key witness" in the Mitchell Report, will write a "tell-all book" for Hudson, an imprint of Penguin. Radomski is "believed to have snagged a mid six figure deal" for the book, which is expected to hit shelves by Spring Training '09. Radomski's agent SCOTT WAXMAN said that celebrity book collaborator JIM FISHER will ghost write the book (N.Y. POST, 4/17).

TEEING OFF: PGA Tour Commissioner TIM FINCHEM, World Golf Foundation CEO STEVE MONA and First Tee CEO JOE LOUIS BARROW JR. yesterday were among the execs in attendance at the first National Golf Day in DC, where they discussed the "impact of golf on the U.S. economy" with members of Congress (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 4/17). U.S. Rep. JOHN MICA (R-FL) and Rep. RON KLEIN (D-FL) introduced a resolution to designate April 16 National Golf Day as part of the World Golf Foundation's continued efforts to grow the game (THE DAILY).

AWARDS & RECOGNITION: Patriots coach BILL BELICHICK will be inducted into his alma matar Wesleyan Univ.'s  Athletics HOF on May 23 (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/17)....Colts coach TONY DUNGY has been named recipient of the U.S. Sports Academy's AMOS ALONZO STAGG COACHING AWARD. NAMES: Baseball HOFer Tommy Lasorda was invited to yesterday's White House ceremony honoring the arrival of Pope Benedict XVI on the South Lawn of the White House. Lasorda also was invited a private dinner hosted by President Bush (MLB.com, 4/17)....The city of Akron, Ohio, and the LEBRON JAMES Family Foundation will host the annual State Farm "King for Kids Bikeathon" on June 21. The event is expected to attract more than 3,500 participants (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 4/16)....The nonprofit Datalys Center, which was formed to "collect and analyze nationwide data about the treatment and prevention of sports and exercise injuries," launched this week in Indianapolis. The center was formed through a collaboration of the NCAA, the American College of Sports Medicine and BioCrossroads (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 4/16)....Champ Car World Series drivers ENRIQUE BERNOLDI, NELSON PHILIPPE and EJ VISO were guests of Lakers VP/Business Operations JEANIE BUSS at Tuesday's Kings-Lakers game at Staples Center.
