Islanders Fan Fest Event Includes
Q&A With Charles Wang |
During last night's Islanders Fan Fest, several hundred fans had the opportunity to "take tours of the team locker room, meet Islanders legend Mike Bossy, learn about season-ticket packages, and partake in various games," according to Katie Strang of NEWSDAY. After the event, fans were "treated to an exclusive" Q&A session with Owner Charles Wang, GM Garth Snow and coach Ted Nolan. Although many questions were submitted by fans through e-mail, the Islanders "offered a pretty candid dialogue, posing questions concerning Snow and Nolan's working relationship, the 2008 draft, plans for free agency, and ways to improve the team's power play." Islanders Senior VP/Sales, Marketing & Operations Chris Dey "explained his community outreach agenda for the coming months, as well as his business plan to reach 10,000 in season-ticket sales (the team is currently at 6,000) and become more involved with the Long Island business community." Wang also "gave an update on the Lighthouse Project" still expected to be approved by July '09, and "expressed his disappointment with this past season" (NEWSDAY, 4/17).
