QuikTrip, Grand Prairie AirHogs Agree To Naming-Rights Deal

The American Association of Professional Baseball league Grand Prairie AirHogs yesterday reached a 10-year agreement with Tulsa-based QuikTrip to name its new ballpark QuikTrip Park at Grand Prairie, according to Andrea Ahles of the FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM. Financial terms were not disclosed. The team will play its first game in QuikTrip Park May 16. Ventura Sports Managing Partner Mark Schuster, whose company owns the team, said that the team's lease with Grand Prairie "splits profits with the city at the end of each season, and that includes naming-rights revenue." Ahles notes as part of the deal, QuikTrip will have a booth at the ballpark. The 5,445-seat, $20M QuikTrip Park also has a swimming pool overlooking right field, a 6,000-square-foot sports bar and restaurant, as well as a kids zone with a rock-climbing wall, miniature golf course and Wiffle Ball field (FT. WORTH STAR TELEGRAM, 4/16).
