CBS Sees 164% Increase In Unique Visitors
To This Year's March Madness On Demand |
CBSSports.com recorded 4.76 million unique visitors to March Madness On Demand (MMOD), a 164% year-over-year jump from last year’s 1.8 million unique visitors. The online coverage of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament also generated 4.93 million total hours of consumed audio and video, 81% above last year’s 2.72 million hours. CBSSports.com this year expanded MMOD to include the regional finals, national semifinals and national title game, and eliminated geographic blackouts for the entire tournament. But even before those games, more than 4 million unique visitors had used the MMOD player. Users clicked the “Boss Button” 2.53 million times, and nearly 3.7 million people participated in CBSSports.com bracket games, many of those on Facebook.com. The total number of bracket game participants is up 65% from '07.
